Has anyone heard of these tunic buttons before? A M-1889 tunic came with three small buttons with those identity words, the rest were Sigmund Eisner NJ buttons. Both makers are identical on the outside, the backside the FYTRA are older.

All buttons are rimmed.

Thanks

Ed

Could the F be an E and the Y an X?

The 'F' is pretty prominent and no space at the bottom of the Y or V to make it an X.

May be a weak die stamping where the letters are incomplete - have seen that many times on button backmarks. "EXTRA QUALITY" is very common on buttons, a generic stamp that would have been used by multiple manufacturers.
