capt14k Posted October 12, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2017 I have been on a bit of a buying spree with U.S. Knives of late. I was sniped on a Kinfolks V44 with Sheath and an interesting Western "Dive Knife?" with painted yellow pommel. The one that I lost that bothered me the most was an early Robeson Shuredge Blade Stamped Mark 2 with bright blade. I was the only bidder and after the auction ended seller said the knife was stolen. Maybe it was for the best. Here is the group I got Colonial Mark 1, Cattaraugus Q225 (I had), added another PAL RH-36 Blued, an interesting EGW with wood grips and metal ring, Western L-77 and West-Cut (not sure if it is WWII) Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
capt14k Posted October 12, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted October 12, 2017 Colonial Mark I U.S.N. Marked I have some nicer ones on the way. Other than the L-77 this group was pretty inexpensive. The L-77 does not seem to sell for less than $200.
thorin6 Posted October 12, 2017 Share #3 Posted October 12, 2017 What happened to the pommel on the PAL RH 36?
capt14k Posted October 13, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted October 13, 2017 What happened to the pommel on the PAL RH 36?Good question it is quite different than the one on my other one. However it does not look ground or cut. I also saw another one listed with a similar pommel.
capt14k Posted October 13, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted October 13, 2017 Here are a couple pics of two more that arrived. Case 337-6"Q and I believe Western G46-8. It is a big one. It is just marked Western PAT'D which if I understand correctly is early war. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
thorin6 Posted October 13, 2017 Share #6 Posted October 13, 2017 That RH 36 is odd; but the collection is nice. Good luck on the next additions.
sactroop Posted October 14, 2017 Share #7 Posted October 14, 2017 After looking at it several times, going back and forth from the pictures to my own 36's. IMHO, I'm leaning towards it being the original pommel having been reshaped. From the patina I think it was done awhile ago. Regardless nice grouping. capt14k Posted October 15, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted October 15, 2017 Is the West-Cut wartime or post war? It has the patent number and no other numbers. I read they were a cheaper line but was that later? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

capt14k Posted October 15, 2017 Author Share #11 Posted October 15, 2017 Another Small Group that includes a Aidaco which a don't find much info about. PAL RH-36 with PAL Sheath with Name on Back. Knife and Sheath are Rough but I liked the name marked Sheath. EGW but this one is marked differently just EGW over KNIFE on one side no U.S.A. on the other. Also grip is Leather not wood. Boy Howdy Posted March 20, 2021 Share #12 Posted March 20, 2021 I found this on the web: "AIDA (pronounced: 'eye da') Co. was a metal forming company located in Dayton Ohio, and today is a global company known as AIDA Engineering. It appears to be a Japan based company, albeit, there are several factories in the USA and Europe"
