M1Thompsonlover Posted October 8, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 8, 2017 I picked up this autograph at a military show over 20 years ago. I thought I would share it with everyone. It is signed to a Major who retired in 1944 according to a handwritten note on the back.
Allan H. Posted October 8, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 8, 2017 Great photo,Ridgway served with distinction in WWII with the 82nd Airborne and in Korea as the Commander of the 8th Army. He retired from service in 1955. This photo is one of the reasons that Ridgway earned the nickname of "Old Iron Tits" with most GIs thinking that he had grenades strapped to each side of his combat suspenders. The reality is that one of those spots was covered with his airborne first aid packet. Allan
