63 RECON Posted October 1, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2017 I've been cleaning up at home a bit and came across this from a trade i made when i used to collect ww2 stuff. Its nothing too exciting, its a piece of V Mail from SGT Frank R Johnson who was with the 8th Evac Hospital in North Africa. Id never looked up the name until today and I found a little bit of info including recordings of Frank about his time in ww2. https://www.fold3.com/page/87899454-frank-r-johnson https://digital.lib.utk.edu/collections/islandora/object/wwiioh%3A2483 Little bit about the unit. https://www.med-dept.com/unit-histories/8th-evacuation-hospital/ there is more info here with a reunion pic of Frank but i don't know how to access it. http://ead.lib.virginia.edu/vivaxtf/view?docId=uva-hs/viuh00004.xml;query= As i say not very exciting but the envelope is very brittle and i kind of didn't want to take out what was in there but curiosity got the better of me. Is APO 464 North Africa?

63 RECON Posted October 1, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted October 1, 2017 Contents is the March 11th 1945 Stars and Stripes Mediterranean edition, it has comics on the outer cover and i was keen to open it up fully but looks to be more articles. Perhaps there is one about Frank.
