Partial items from the estate sale of a WW2 Navy Veteran. Round patches are early Gator Navy. These were with several hand made souvenir items from Scicily. Hand embroidered on twill. Both appear to be removed from uniforms. Comment are welcome and much appreciated.

Thanks, Al

Wow. I have never seen this version of the Gator Patch. My father Lloyd Emerson Clarke designed the Gator Patch when he was a member of the Amphibious forces practicing land these vehicles on the beaches of Panama City, FL. I have a collection of a next version, I guess, but would love to have one of these. My father was from Virginia and was one of the first sailors to be assigned to the Amphibious Force and to report to the base at Little Creek, Virginia.

The photo is of the Gator Patches for Shoulder and Cuff that I have collected. I have never seen any like the ones you have.

Thanks, Ruth Anne Clarke

Thank you Ruth Anne.  You have great pride in your father's talents and service in WW2 which I admire.  Unfortunately, the patches that I once had are now in the hands of another collector.  Keep searching, they are still out there.

Thanks, Al
