Hello everyone. Just joined to hopefully learn more about the military and collecting related items and also learning more about the WWII era. That was the war my Grandfather Grover, on my mother's side, fought in for the US Army. He was wounded in Normandy.

I am also interested in 1966-1969 Vietnam-era time period. Those were the years my Father served. In one of the most tumultuous and dangerous times to be a veteran, he stood up and decided to answer the call of his country and volunteered to serve. He was one of the lucky ones. He had orders to go to Vietnam but just when it looked like he was getting ready to leave, his orders were changed and he was sent to Germany where by some stroke of luck, the Army kept him until he left the Army in 69.

So proud of my Grandfather and my Father. They are both now in heaven, but the pride I get from talking about them makes me feel like they are still here. Proud to be an American and hope for the day when Veterans start getting back the respect that has been lacking in recent years.
