This is what i like about collecting.
The unusual things. I don't know if i would buy this uniform if someone would offer it to me. Ok, i would buy it for the insignia but not as a original one. I would believe it is a put together.

Well there you have it, right there in black and white. It was not uncommon to transfer branches and often times the level of MEDICAL fitness required to remian in the airborne would be lost due to injury. This need not preclude the soldier serving actively in another branch.

Very nice photo!!

Maybe a qualified paratrooper that has suffered some accident after training that compromised the knees or ankles, being transferred (or voluntary) for Army Air Force and qualified "Air Crew".
