USS Collett - I knew I was born into collecting

After becoming focused on only collecting US Army patches I made a pact with myself that I would try my hardest not to stray from that. I also made an exception that I would collect non army patches. One of those patches is for the USS Collett patch which is pictured. I missed out on a different example over a year ago and was glad to snag this one. Then, I went back to a website I had bookmarked, started digging deeper and found a link I hadn't seen before. After seeing this I think I was destined to collect insignia! The funny story is, I got to spend a lot of time with my grandfather growing up and I never heard this story, even after he knew I was a patch collector.
