shifty5580 Posted September 22, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted September 22, 2017 Lt Colonel George Dinges was in europe with the 339th ord bn (I'm looking for more informations about him and this unit if someone can help me...) He has an ASR of 65 so I suppose he did minimum two campaings in europa (fought in France-Germany) He has no child under 18years

doyler Posted September 23, 2017 Share #13 Posted September 23, 2017 Nice helmet and not surprised that its a metal made insignia seeing he was in an Ordnance Bn. There were a lot of craftsmen in these outfits and see some great personal items like ash trays, lighters and trench art made by Ordnance men. Dogsbody Posted September 24, 2017 Share #14 Posted September 24, 2017 That's a very nice helmet with interesting insignia attached to it and something I haven't seen before. As Ron said it makes sense that he was in an ordnance Bn. That insignia would be too obvious in combat sitations. Thanks for sharing. Rene

MattS Posted September 26, 2017 Share #18 Posted September 26, 2017 Very cool insignia! Looks like aluminum (I'm assuming), I wonder if he had a brass leaf when he was a major.
