45th Signal Co. in Korean War

A while back I promised to post a few photos from 2  recent scrapbooks I bought at the flea market. These belonged to John W Russell who was a Cpl. in the 45th Signal Company of the 45th. Infantry in the Korean War. His service number was NG 25687135. He was from Buffalo, OK.

 

This first one is a portrait of John drawn in Japan before they were sent to Korea,

This photo is described as taken Feb. 2, 1952 of the Construction Platoon (4th. Platoon) of the 45th Signal Company of the 45th Infantry.

And this photo is described as: "Jan, 1952. SW hill in front of #347. Gorey mess ain't it. All these sandbags aren't sandbags. They're dead Chinese. Been dead for weeks. Dont smell good either!"
