Thought I would show my recent find, 100% Rock-Ola Carbine...only down is someone put varnish on the stock. Anyone have a good technique for stripping that works on varnish / lacquer ? Thanks for any ideas.

Quite a nice Carbine..! Frankly I'd leave the stock alone, it looks pretty decent as it is, from what I can see of it anyway.

The finish does look nice, but, not an original "as issued" look, except for a presentation carbine. If the finish is lacquer, ethyl alcohol should remove it. If it is varnish something stronger is needed. I have used a water soluble "citrus" stripper with success.
