1942 comforter, cotton filled, Info?

Picked this up in a lot of camping stuff that included some military. I assumed this was a civilian pad but checked the tag and found this. It is a twin sized comforter in khaki color.

The Comforter, Cotton Filled was a OD colored GI quilt that was issued for use on the individual (twin sized) bunks usually in the cooler climes.

 

You often see them rolled up at the foot of bunks in those all encompassing barracks photos.

 

Although they certainly could have been spirited away for all sort of uses, their intended use was in a static housing setting.
