Picked this up from my fav source, uniform w/ shirt, overcoat, M-1945, extra green shirt & tie. Great photo of him in his M-1945, also him with his parents after OCS wearing same uniform. Not about him online, archive file was lost in the fire completely. Luckily the news articles that came with it explain alot. They state he was killed in Luxembourg Feb. 6, 1945. His app for headstone states he was 528th Regiment Engineers LP, which translates to 528th Light Pontoon Company but written above it is 166th Engineer BN. I found an after action report talking about the 166th helping the 80th Division cross the Sauer in Feb 1945. It shows 2 killed Feb 7. Not sure how accurate record keeping is but could be the place? This grouping has letters starting in 1941 from Basic to 1942 in the Pacific, even a letter to his brother about being selected for OCS and not to tell anyone because he wants to surprise them. Then sent to ETO in 1943. His brother John was a Silver Star recipient. PH certificate, mass dedication, photo of Uncle Alby who they talk about in the letters, killed at Normandy. Large photo of OCS class & 528th Engineers. A letter in late Jan 1945 states at the end.......

"I guess I have a lot to be thankful for, almost 4 years in and still safe & sound after all I have seen. Knock on wood."

Rip soldier and thank you for your service...
