viking73 Posted August 28, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 28, 2017 Hi, I picked this up today. A Japanese made Vulcan lighter with the insignia of the 553rd Reconnaissance Wing. The "Batcats" flew the Lockheed EC-121R Constellation and had a pretty interesting mission in Vietnam. I found this lighter via the OfferUp ap (it's just like Craigslist). I'm hoping the seller can give me some history behind the lighter. If not, I'm happy to add it to my small lighter collection. -Derek
viking73 Posted August 28, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted August 28, 2017 The one problem with it is that when the top closes, it's not flush with the side. It's a bit "crooked" for lack of a better term... Can I tap it a bit with a rubber mallet to fix it (and risk breaking the hinges) or should I just leave it alone?? Thanks for looking! -Derek
firefighter Posted August 29, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 29, 2017 Great looking lighter. I would take it to a jeweler.
viking73 Posted August 30, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted August 30, 2017 Great looking lighter. I would take it to a jeweler. Thanks E! That's probably smarter than hitting it with a mallet -Derek
