Maine militia staff frock coat.

Saw this pretty Maine militia staff frock coat. Wanted to get some thoughts on its history maybe it's authenticity. Looks like an 1881 but I'm not familiar with overcoats. . Thanks.

Looks ok, however hard to tell with the photo's. With the cuff braid this would be the based off of the federal pattern officer coats of 1872 . In 1879, the cuff braid were to be dropped. Militias and national guard troops often wore old style uniforms long after the federal army dropped them.
