Tino Posted August 25, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 25, 2017 I would like some opinions on the originality of this 316th fighter squadron patch. The patch is 5 1/2 inches. Any help is appreciated Tino

tredhed2 Posted August 25, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 25, 2017 Yours appears to be a repro; here is an original for comparison.
ocsfollowme Posted August 25, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 25, 2017 I am not sure if tredhed2 is posting the one from this robe. But that is the variation that we know to be true. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/242524-interesting-patch-coat-on-ebay/
Bill Scott Posted August 25, 2017 Share #5 Posted August 25, 2017 Just an opinion I think its Italian made and real.It has the same white thin glue on the back that you see on the back of 509th Gingerbread man patches.I could be wrong but the more I look at it the better it looks. If it is a fake it is one of the best I have ever seen. .Scotty. walika Posted August 25, 2017 Share #6 Posted August 25, 2017 I agree with Scotty, the OP patch (post #1) looks good to me, an original Italian-made patch. As for the patch Dave (tredhed2) posted in #3 above, it's an original, too. When I have time, I will post the 324th FG patches in my collection. 316th FS 324th FG Posted December 8, 2017 Share #9 Posted December 8, 2017 Tino, that is a real variation. As Bill Scott said, it is Italian made.
walika Posted December 8, 2017 Share #10 Posted December 8, 2017 The Forum does not have a means for me to edit my original post to include the Italian embroidered variety, but I have added a post here.
