Saw this "RARE" item for sale while on a recent trip. I think they'd be very functional, in the right climate...nod..nod..wink..wink.

I thought those were a rare Vietnam War item manufactured for winter use along the Mekong River Delta.

No, that's a very rare issue item skate the hell out of a tight spot.  Many of the GI's turned them into unique fighting knives, so keep your eye open on e-bay.
