patches Posted August 24, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2017 Found this site just now, what caught my eye was this heading. One fact that has not received much attention in the almost 90 years following the bombing is that almost a third of the victims were veterans of the Great War, and many Great War veterans were first responders to this tragedy. Below are some of the details of those veterans who lost their lives in this horrific attack: As mentioned above It gives some OBITs with photo of a few of these Vets who died as well as a few pictures of the troops sent there form Governors Island as well as this photo below of sailors who are probably from the Brooklyn Navy Yard. https://sites.google.com/site/ph0ebus13/thewallstreetexplosion:september16,1920
David D Posted August 24, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 24, 2017 First I ever heard about it. Sad day. I didn't find anything in the article as to what the motive was. Or is it a mystery, someone mad at the banks?

cw1979 Posted August 24, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 24, 2017 Crime was never solved. Investigators thought Anarchists were behind it but there was never sufficient probable cause for any arrests. When radicals in the 1970s started setting off bombs this event was used by the newspapers to point out radical acts of terror were not new to NYC.
