Lightweight silver finish EGA with wire attachments. Age? Use?

Stamped metal. 1 5/8" tall. The finish is silver, even though it looks somewhat gold in the photo.

Appears to be a Bannermans surplus strike. Thinner than issue pieces, the excess metal flange on the lower fluke is the giveaway. These were worn on enlisted epaulettes with double prongs, the single prong was seen on early kepi pieces but this is an example struck for the surplus market. Usually retail for around 15-20 bucks when listed honestly
