WW2KOREAVIETNAM Posted August 23, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2017 Hello all! I'm curious to see what kind of field jackets people have acquired. Please feel free to post pictures of yours like I will mine!
ParanormalTrooper Posted August 23, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 23, 2017 Welcome to the forum! Here's my one and only field jacket, a salty USN N4 Deck Jacket that I am currently using for my corpsman display.
ParanormalTrooper Posted August 23, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2017 Also, just a quick note, there is a similar topic to this one that can be found here (although it's for all uniforms, not just field jackets): http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/804-show-your-rarest-or-favorite-uniforms/
doyler Posted August 23, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 23, 2017 I had posted this before WW2 Mountain Field Jacket used by the 10th Mountain Division. Not real rare but interesting due to the addition of the white leather elbow patches and cuff trim. The cuffs, collars and elbows were always a high wear area on the jackets. You will see this on the early Parsons field jackets,Mountain Jackets,M43s etc
WW2KOREAVIETNAM Posted August 23, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted August 23, 2017 My favorite one so far, my custom tailored M-51 field jacket. It's partially named to a Lieutenant who served overseas with the 3rd Infantry (previous owner removed the third infantry patch ) and was stateside with the 76th Infantry. It is customs tailored to have a built in liner. In great condition besides the ripped name tape!
doyler Posted August 23, 2017 Share #6 Posted August 23, 2017 The Mountain Field Jacket also encorporated an internal back back that zipped open from the side and had zippered upper pockets as well.Internal suspenders were also part of the jacket but many cut these out.
