WWII US Paratrooper, Possible 82nd Airborne, Named

I have a WWII Paratrooper photo taken stateside. His name is Angus Victor Schroeder. I google searched his name and an obituary shows up. I would like to obtain more information.

 

Can someone confirm he was in the 82nd Airborne? Also, did he jump in combat?

I found a few guys with that last name. One popped up with no first name or initial but it showed him with B Battery, 320th Glider Field Artillery Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division

Thank you, 551 PIB. This might be the guy. He might have gone by his middle name of "Victor". Maybe he didn't want to be called Angus.
