mortaydc60 Posted August 17, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2017 This group of patches just sold for under 500,item #112519596599. Think buyer made out very well. The eye catcher was the tab of the 14th regt over the 71st div. Than your eye picks up a patch that you can barely make out and it is a Caterpiller patch. Oh you see a 34th div and then notice it is 133rd HQ. Greenback 82nd another 82nd one piece with tab and a couple of 101st patches. Question is what should retail on this group actually bring? I thought it should go for 200 more aleast.

z19 Posted August 18, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 18, 2017 Patch market ain't what it was a few years back and probably gonna get worse except for extremely rare stuff. The tab and caterpillar are really the only two things you cannot regularly acquire at about any show or on Ebay anyday. Ebay is a pretty darn good barometer. Just my 2 cents....Alex
manayunkman Posted August 18, 2017 Share #5 Posted August 18, 2017 First mistake was selling them as a group. Isn't that one 101 patch worth 450.00?

vintageproductions Posted August 18, 2017 Share #7 Posted August 18, 2017 That 101st is a US made piece from the 50's-60s and called the Ft Campbell variant. On a really good day on Ebay $35-$45.
tredhed2 Posted August 18, 2017 Share #8 Posted August 18, 2017 14th Inf scroll and caterpillar insignia best in the lot. The 133rd HQ looks like made for collectors.

On a really good day on Ebay $35-$45.00 Agreed. These are a velvet version.I have one on a KIA dress uniform he was KIA Jan 68 and hus uniform returned to his family Will add when I visited Ft.Campell in 1979 there were racks of dress uniforms at Bricks and the pawn shops with these patches on them

Blacksmith Posted August 18, 2017 Share #11 Posted August 18, 2017 +2 Also, several have glue and paper residue on them. Honestly, I don't know that I'd pay more than $50 for the lot. I guess it comes down to individual appeal, but what should be the big draws in that lot aren't interesting to me. +
Bill Scott Posted August 18, 2017 Share #12 Posted August 18, 2017 Retail on the lot 450-550 in my opinion.Scotty
BILL THE PATCH Posted August 18, 2017 Share #13 Posted August 18, 2017 The 34th looks like the one on eBay that states it a collector copy in another listing. I believe it's the nchs company I might be wrong on the company but I pretty sure it's a copy. Sent from my XT1031 using Tapatalk
lamarhooten Posted August 18, 2017 Share #14 Posted August 18, 2017 Have to agree the 133rd HQ looks new. Would not pass on the 14th Inf. Reg or the Caterpiller club ones! Found a velveteen 101st on a jacket last Haloween and traded it off for $40.00. Still have a loose one that was picked up at Ft. Campbell in 1963 by a coworker. Nice to have but wouldn't spend to much on getting one.
BILL THE PATCH Posted August 18, 2017 Share #15 Posted August 18, 2017 The velvet 101st are often mistaken for the rarer 101st that we're made by a soldier during the war, I think an officer had them made. Check hero's in our midst I think it explains it in volume 3 Sent from my XT1031 using Tapatalk
mortaydc60 Posted August 18, 2017 Author Share #16 Posted August 18, 2017 Looks like there is agreement that the 34th/133 HQ patch is a copy. The two main items that account for the value are the 14th tab and the Caterpiller club patch which I think retail price is aleast 450. the remaining 5 or 6 patches cost buyer $30.
