Survival Cards for Southeast Asia. Did the military reprint these?

 

I bought a master pack of these cards.The label on the master box and one side of the individual packs indicated a 1968 printing. A customer of mine pointed out what appears to be a reprint date on the other side of the individual packs. "Headquarters Department of the Army U S Government Printing Office 1979 0--291-564" Did the Army reprint these and what need would there be for SE Asia data cards in 1979? Thanks

They did indeed reprint them. I have a box dated from the 1980s. The info would be useful not just in Vietnam. They are pretty cool and you can learn a lot from thumbing through them.
