digi-shots Posted August 16, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2017 Can anyone tell me if this is the real deal or perhaps a reproduction. These are quick cell phone pics. I've gone back thru some of the old postings to compare the stampings and lettering but only came across one and it looks the same... Thanks for looking! Blacksmith Posted August 16, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 16, 2017 I agree with Skip. Would like to see better pics, but nothing seems wrong from what is shown.

digi-shots Posted August 17, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted August 17, 2017 Thanks, folks! One more question on the sheath stitching... definitely not white or dirty - looks like tan and is uniform in color. Any leather sheaths I have appear to be white or dirty white (white turning grey). SKIPH Posted August 17, 2017 Share #6 Posted August 17, 2017 My scabbards' tend to have slightly darkened to a tanish-yellowish color, like the L&C above. Keep in mind they are 74 years old. SKIP
sactroop Posted August 17, 2017 Share #7 Posted August 17, 2017 IMHO, I don't think it's at all uncommon for the white cotton thread to pick up staining from the leather and whatever treatments that may have been applied to it.
