Sparty On Posted August 15, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2017 This is my current project, one that was being very slow in the making but finally gaining traction as of late. When complete it will be a D-Day C-47 loading paratroopers. I've never been one to go into great detail of certain areas just to enclose it and never to be seen again. It does make for improving technique so I'm trying to change my mindset about it with this build.
Sparty On Posted August 15, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted August 15, 2017 I've read that interior green is probably the most accurate color found inside this aircraft. Still have some work to do towards the cockpit area. Here I was experimenting with an oil wash.
Sparty On Posted August 15, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted August 15, 2017 Dry fit of the interior into one half. That's all for now. Hopefully next time I'll have the controls and instruments completed and weathered.

Sparty On Posted August 15, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted August 15, 2017 I'm working on the same model right now! Nice! What did you do for the interior shade of green?
strawberry 9 Posted August 15, 2017 Share #9 Posted August 15, 2017 Same as you. I have to be honest though, I only did the areas visible by the door. ? I just couldn't put the effort into the concealed parts. It is good practice though. Looks great!

ArtyScout Posted August 15, 2017 Share #11 Posted August 15, 2017 Hey Spartan, Besides the interior color you did an excellent job on that oil wash. It really brought out a lot of the interior details. So far, so good. Semper Fi. Manny
Sparty On Posted August 23, 2017 Author Share #12 Posted August 23, 2017 Had I chance to finish the cockpit. Didn't get to crazy with the detailing since most of it won't be visible. Started work on the engines as well as the landing gear bays.
Sparty On Posted August 23, 2017 Author Share #13 Posted August 23, 2017 I painted the radial engines silver then applied a black oil wash. The engine on the right is before and the left is after wash application. I'm thinking of adding some 0.3 mm lead wire to help improve the appearance.
