Hey everyone!

Just wanted to say that I am glad to be here. I am a US Army Vet living in Germany. Same old story, stationed over here, met local girl, fell in love, got married, went back, beautiful wife got homesick, moved back to Germany, but by us it was X 3 ! Yep, been over and back three times now.... Here to stay now. To old and tired to keep starting over...hehe

So I love militaria and had a big collection until we moved for the third time and had to sell everything... :( But that is ok, love going to flea-markets and shows and building back up. I especially love weapons and vehicles but will buy just about anything...lol

I have been into the scene even before I went into the Military, lets just say 30+ years and leave it at that... :D But I am still learning every day. So I will be asking a lot of questions so I hope that is ok?

So, I need to build up my posts now so I can ask my first question about a Gun..so fire away

Welcome to the forum! What a fun story about meeting your wife! My GGUncle served in Germany during the German Occupation right after the War. He met a girl over there, fell in love, and they were married before he shipped back home, and she was able to come with him. Now, they actually stayed in Cleveland. ;) She did go back for visits a few times, but she was happy to be in the US. However, he was from Tennessee, and she was taught English by British teachers, so she had a German-British accent with a Southern twang! :)

This is them in Germany before they were married:

I know he was stationed at a base in/near Kassell.

Hope you enjoy the forum! It is filled with wonderful members who know tons! It is always a learning process!

Hello stratasfan and thank you for that welcome and that wonderful story! That is a beautiful photo! Yea, it was ping-pong for us for a while. She got homesick, then I got tired of Germany and back and forth. :-)

Take care and look forward to more posts with you!

can someone please help me? How do you edit a post? I just noticed that there is a little too much in that photo, TMI in there that does not need to be there and would like to change the photo. Is that not possible?

You are only allowed to edit a post for a short time after you hit the "Post" button. You can't edit photos. Once you hit the attach image, it is there. Now, you can ask the Moderators to remove the image, and then just upload another in a reply. So . . . you only get a bit of time to do basic type edits. ;)

Hey, Militaria -

Willkommen an bord! This is a great place to learn. Folks here will gladly share their knowledge and expertise, plus there are lots of great photos to learn from and compare to on just about any US military subject that you can think of, so don't be shy. Have fun and post away! Tschuss - Chris

My Uncle also married a German girl while serving there and moved back to the states :-)

Thank you everyone. Sorry for the delay but I could not post anymore yesterday as my 3 posts were up, sorry but getting started here is a bit silly! I can not even get an ADMIN to help me. I want to delete the photo above and I went to the Moderating Team section and looked who was online and wrote them a PM asking if they could delete it, but no response and no help... :-(

Any suggestions?
