Info requested on WWII 10ga Very Pistol

I've had this H&R US issued very pistol for several years , but can't seem to find it listed online . Other US models turn up , but these must be unusual . Anyone seen one before or might have some info or guess at value ?

Here's a picture from Modern Ordnance Material Feb 1943. States that SNL B-23 is the reference manual for this flare gun.
I also have one of these guns. They don't turn up very often.

Mine is serial #3700 I think . Is yours close to that ? These things are very well made . I noticed the barrel & brake lever are also serialed to the frame . Evidently some individual fitting was involved during mfg . Do you think $200-225 is a fair value on these in decent condition ?
