bellasilva Posted August 11, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 11, 2017 I just lucked out big time while cruising ancestry, punching in names on all the dog tags I own. I almost scrolled right on past this one, but was veeeery happy I didn't. Found this man on a passenger list for the Queen Elizabeth, arriving in New York on July 20th, 1945. He is listed as a 745 Rifleman with 2nd Platoon, Company I, 324th Infantry Regiment, 44th Infantry Division, which saw 190 days total of bitter combat in the ETO. A true set of combat tags. These are going right up on the display boards. Also, I tried to edit it but it's a horrible screenshot of the passenger list.
