usaf70 Posted August 10, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 10, 2017 Looking for information on the two patches shown. I have seen the Gunner patches before but not with the words "SAC Gunner". The other B-52 patch was used by whom and what does the E-63 refer to near the tail? Thanks
firefighter Posted August 10, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 10, 2017 Those patches are very cool. The 'E' could have something to do with it being a B-52E
Randy Posted August 11, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 11, 2017 I think E-63 was the crew number. I believe the E was used for deployed crews, there were so many that they got up to 63 and maybe beyond. Each crew normally had a number that started with R for Ready or L for Lead, unless they were in the top 10% IIRC, then it had an S for Select Crew. The SAC Gunner is 100% good, my dad wore one just like it. Somewhere I have a pic of it. Those are both nice patches! Randy

FIGMO Posted January 14, 2018 Share #5 Posted January 14, 2018 B-52Es were not used in SEA. B-52F/D/Gs were used in SEA 1965-1973.
