Patchcollector Posted August 7, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 7, 2017 I've seen a fair number of these, all with the names of different bases. If someone wanted to,they could build a collection of these.Unusual and offbeat.
firefighter Posted August 7, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 7, 2017 That's a nice one.The ones I have seen are usual round. I do have triangle one from White Sands, its buried somewhere, dated from the 1960's.Yours looks like a decent size patch.

themick Posted August 7, 2017 Share #6 Posted August 7, 2017 I have a round one from U.S.M.C.A.S. Santa Barbara (from WWII) and in the middle it reads LIFEGUARD. It's red with white stitched lettering. Steve
ocsfollowme Posted August 7, 2017 Share #7 Posted August 7, 2017 I think these are pretty cool and they tend to go for $3-7 on ebay. As stated above, this could be a super cool collecting scope as there are few patches for certain posts, bases, forts, etc.... I saw one that was from Ft. Sill dated 1944 that I wish I had picked up a month ago on ebay (I am purely a WW2 focus). These tend to be 1950s-1970s. And most are round. Great insignia. mikie Posted September 29, 2017 Share #11 Posted September 29, 2017 I've seen more round ones than any other shape.IIRC these were worn on the swimming trunks. Thanks for that. I was wondering what they were used for. It'd be kind of strange on a dress uniform. Mikie
