Edelweisse Posted August 5, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 5, 2017 Hi Folks: I picked up two (2) pair of jungle boots....and I'm trying to validate Vietnam period. One pair was bought at a Vietnam vet's estate sale while the other was purchased at another. Are these Vietnam period boots? I'm sure that there are some SMEs out there. Thanks for your assistance

Edelweisse Posted August 5, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted August 5, 2017 I'm a Vietnam era vet so I saw many of these when I was in the USAF from 1972-76 but never got close to Southeast Asia. Any help or even a website would be great. Thanks,

Garandomatic Posted August 6, 2017 Share #7 Posted August 6, 2017 The shape below the able strap is rather diamond like, with equal sides. Sort of a rhombus i guess. That's usually an indicator of military issue. Do the backs of the heels have the small seam like the 66 dated pair?
Edelweisse Posted August 6, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted August 6, 2017 Garandomatic...I apologize....I didn't take a picture of the back heel seam.....but "Yes...they have the same heel seam." See attached...picture showing the back heel seam on the last pair of boots. These actually came out of 1st ID Vietnam vet's estate.
Garandomatic Posted August 6, 2017 Share #9 Posted August 6, 2017 I'd say they are extremely close to wartime then.
