A recent estate sale find today. The sale was run by a company and my information was limited. I was told that the knife belonged to the man who died in 2004. I have been unable to find a connection to him and the knife. His name was Cadd Thomas Moore. He worked with NASA and went to VPI. The estate sale company told me he was in WWII. No way. His obituary states he was born in 1935. However, his father, same name, was born in 1907 and died in 1993. His obituary has him working for the post office with no reference to a WWII service. When WWII started, Moore Sr. would have been around 33. Just below the average age for a WWII Sea Bee. Anybody have a way to reference musters for CB Battalions? The estate company wanted a ridiculous price for the knife separate from the sheath. The knife had a replaced plastic handle, an aluminum pommel and the blade was ruined. I hated leaving the knife but I could not justify the price for its condition. I did find information on the CB 11th Special Battalion. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
