Tinley100 Posted July 23, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted July 23, 2017 was Best Friends with Harlon Block (the flag raiser in the front- see page 80 of the book "Flags of our Fathers") Joe was 26th Marines and Harlon was 28th Marines.
