I have seen this style of patch from a couple of different US Navy ships that were made it this same exact pattern and was just wondering if anyone had any insight as to when these were made and/or worn? The design for different patches is basically the same with the silhouette of the ship changed depending on what type of ship it was and some have the hull number designation at the bottom and some do not. I was also curious as to if these patches were actually worn by US Navy personnel or if they are more souvenir type patches in nature.

Late 1950's style, usually made for USN Cruisers and sold to crewmen through the ships' stores

Thank you for the confirmation Salvage Sailor. I had wondered if they might be late 50's vintage.

...another Heavy Cruiser

USS SALEM (CA-139) Des Moines class in service 1949 to 1959 which also points to this style/make of patch being from the 1950's.

We've now posted all three of the Des Moines class heavy cruisers on this topic (Des Moines, Salem and Newport News)

The open question remains, does anyone know who is the manufacturer of this style patch?
