bunkerhillburning Posted July 23, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2017 Hey guys, Can anyone give me an approximate age for this EIB? The only ones I am finding are marked ' Sterling ' on the reverse. This one is marked ' I.I.C. G.I. ' . I want to make sure I have the correct time frame of use before offering it for sale.

triplecanopy Posted July 23, 2017 Share #3 Posted July 23, 2017 This example is relatively recent, probably made in the last few years. The maker is international insignia corp. The GI is for government issue. WWII EIB's were madeof sterling silver for the most part and were pin back and clutch back. Post war EIB's were both Sterling and non sterling. After 1965 to the late 1970's they were usually marked 1/20th silver filled. In the 1980's the makers transitioned into alloys of zinc and copper. Your example is one of later manufacture. Agree 100% with the above, just in case you want a second opinion. You could probably find one like your example in a px today.
