mb399579 Posted July 22, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2017 Hello, I've found this canteen (cover + canteen) in France in a flea market. The cover have no marking (the canteen is dated 1945). What do you think about this cover ? Thanks Bertrand

mb399579 Posted July 23, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted July 23, 2017 Made in Japan, Taiwan, or China. Hello, I don't believe the cover was made in Asia, the material seems to be really military (including the hook) ? and here in France we are very far from Asia. Another opinion ? gitana Posted August 2, 2017 Share #4 Posted August 2, 2017 That particular type of edging material often indicates a commercially-made cover. Also, military (army) canteen covers had rows of stitching on the front and were dated. This example, therefore, has at least three indications that it was not made under military contract, despite the material being similar.
