Calvin Hall Posted July 22, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2017 I purchased this small group from a pawn shop just today. Photo provided the veteran's name which allowed for a bit of quick research. See links below... http://archive.knoxnews.com/entertainment/life/wwii-vet-finally-receives-ged-ep-410869867-359735661.html?bppw=absolutely&suppressAds=youbet http://valor.militarytimes.com/recipient.php?recipientid=101900 Would it be possible to find the orders associated with him being awarded the Silver Star? Thanks! Calvin
Captainofthe7th Posted July 24, 2017 Share #2 Posted July 24, 2017 Hi Calvin -- nice group, very cool to see the veteran wearing them. Wouldn't you know...I only have 24th Div up to GO #463 1951. You will have to email the Archives II at College Park and request the GO for his medal. [email protected] Requesting GO#526 HQ 24th Div 1951 That should get you what you need. zsmith Posted July 28, 2017 Share #4 Posted July 28, 2017 Very cool grouping. The only thing that would have made it better is if those sunglasses were included.
