Dating a naval bicorn hat

Can anyone help ate this bicorn hat. Trying to see if it's pre span am war or post. Thanks a bunch.

Perhaps by the back of the button, but this is just a guess.

The Chapeau or Cocked Hat..

 

Looking thru old uniform regulations, the design is basically unchanged from 1886 to 1941sh when it was suspended. The button should be 7/8' dia ( large size navy button). The black lace around the fans indicate, rank below Flag rank. Width of the gold lace around the button, 1' Captain or Commander. The width was connected to the size on the collar lace on a full dress coat..

It's so hard to tell on these because they were used up until ww2 and as you mentioned the style was virtually identical throughout it's hard to really take a chance n buying one if you desire something pre 1900. Thanks for your time guys. Much appreciated.
