Hello guys,

I'm new to posting on the forum, as I have mostly collected British in the past. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody can help me date the following Carlisle bandage tin that I bought recently for a few bucks.

The odd thing is that is marked "U.S. ARMY", rather than "U.S. GOV'T" and it is in a brown color like WWI first aid packets. Also, the bottom is stamped "PATENT APPLIED FOR" another forum member posted an early example with a Patent Number of 1436406.

Looking up this patent number, it appears that the patent application was filed on November 7th, 1921 and the patent was issued on November 21st, 1922. So, I am wondering if this tine dates to the early 1920s...any help is greatly appreciated!
