Sandpebbles Posted July 20, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2017 Hello guys, I'm new to posting on the forum, as I have mostly collected British in the past. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody can help me date the following Carlisle bandage tin that I bought recently for a few bucks. The odd thing is that is marked "U.S. ARMY", rather than "U.S. GOV'T" and it is in a brown color like WWI first aid packets. Also, the bottom is stamped "PATENT APPLIED FOR" another forum member posted an early example with a Patent Number of 1436406. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/118606-first-aid-packet-us-army/ Looking up this patent number, it appears that the patent application was filed on November 7th, 1921 and the patent was issued on November 21st, 1922. So, I am wondering if this tine dates to the early 1920s...any help is greatly appreciated!
