Persian Gulf Command Posted July 19, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2017 As the saying goes "when it rains it pours". I have found 3 M10A1 Spoons/fuses in the past four months. The most recent is very unusual. Its a short spoon verson and is not a Kodak manufactured example. I also believe the fuse stem is a true M10A1, which was discontinued due to its tendency to ignite prematurely. Please contribute to this post if you have seen such a "short spoon" example before and if you can confirm the fuse is a true M10A1. greasemonkey247 Posted July 19, 2017 Share #3 Posted July 19, 2017 those short spoons are usually on the cut back style fuses, and on late late mk1 grenades. Its prewar.
Persian Gulf Command Posted July 22, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted July 22, 2017 Agreed that the short spoons were associated with cut back fuses, however, I believe the M10A1 levers were produced after the cutbacks had been discontined. Anyone else have or have seen a Short M10A1 lever before?

Tentitans112887 Posted July 22, 2017 Share #6 Posted July 22, 2017 Another member requested more pics, so here they are. Spoon reads: M10A1 P.A. LOT 5190-1 Body marked with 'N'
rldarmstr Posted July 31, 2017 Share #7 Posted July 31, 2017 Here's an M10A1 fuse I have. Fuse looks the same to me. As for the short spoon; I have not seen a short spoon stamped this way. I have a few short spoons on cutback fuses and most are without stampings, one or two have very tiny cartouche style stamps.
CUBUSMC Posted July 31, 2017 Share #8 Posted July 31, 2017 Same here, all my short fuzes have no markings with the exception of the occasional maker stamp. The Grey grenades I have in my collection all have cut back fuzes and short spoons and the yellows have the newer fuze and long spoons. So does anyone know a general rule when the fuze and spoon changed? Of course I realize that when it comes to grenades that there is no real hard and fast rule. - Jeff
