This is a great reference for early aviation units in Vietnam.

It's a shame that (as far as I know) the series was never completed.  The books that were completed are an invaluable resource to anyone that's interested in the history of US Army Aviation.

Found a 504th Avn Co 4th Armd Div one, it's sewn most incorrectly on a 1971 Dated  NOMEX Flight Shirt, patch of course was in wear in the late 50s early 60s (It's in 1963 that the company is used as a basis for a new aviation unit for the 4th Armd Div, the 504th Avn Bn).

It's up on The Bay as a BIDDING Item, guess people are looking to buy for the patch alone.

Saw that one, the thing that interests me with that shirt is its the only shirt Ive ever seen for sale setup with the 2 strips of velcro like that for a name tag.  My father had some leather name tags like that when he was flying in the CT ARNG in the early-mid 70s and it had 2 strips of velcro attached like that on the back vs the whole back side.  At that time they still werent actually an authorized item that Im aware of.  The setup of the nameplate/tag was setup basically the same as they would be later down the road but instead of saying US Army after the rank, he had it say Avn showing he was a Aviation Warrant Officer.   This was obviously years before the Army Avn Branch actually existed.

The patch identified as the 321 TC Co is incorrect. It is actually a 7, not a 1, so the patch belongs to the 327th Transportation Company. Located at Ft Meade in the 70-80 time frame.

Here two I have just picked up for the collection. The first one is for the small unit that was testing/using the TOW weapons system on aircraft(helicopters) for the first time. The second is for the 18th Avi. Co.

Here are two more VN era Aviation related patches. The first one is a 'broken' pocket patch type with Aviation connections. More new additions to the collection.

Here is large one for sure! The older AAC patch is shown for reference to the size of the bigger one. Must have been worn on the chest or the back of a jacket.
