Do you know what unit designation this patch might have? I have a larger variation of this patch. Or even the same one if these belonged to Doug B at one time. The black background, bullion version.

Well not to be left out......The large gunnery school patch is very nice on a wool base. I have no other info. Included beside the previous design to give a size comparison. Jeff Williams

Here's the mate to the 46th Division Air Section on the hat I posted earlier. With this one the design is a little more clear. Behind the turtle you can see mailed fist insignia of the division.

A couple more, Red cloud flight named in honor of "Cpl. Mitchell Red Cloud Jr., whose stand-to-the-death against an enemy night attack during the Korean War earned him a posthumous Medal of Honor, and for whom Camp Red Cloud was named." From an Army.mil article.

Originally this unit was the 3rd Light Aviation Section then on 24 September 1963 was redesignated the 59th Aviation Co. The small patch is probably trimmed from an ascot.

This one hasn't been completely identified. Research linked it to an Armed OH-13 training course, given out on completion of the course. But, there exists a near identical patch associated with an ORWAC training class at Fort Sill in 1963. That patch is different only in that the GRRAH at bottom has "63-1T".https://www.vhpa.org/orwacpics/63-1tpat.jpg

I thought it wouldn't it be nice to show case Keller's 103rd Division Air Section with my 42nd Division piece.

I wonder how many other "CONUS" National Guard and Army Reserve Divisional Air Section patches are out there that incorporates their Divisions SSI into the design?

I've had this patch for quite a while. I actually thought I lost it and just found it today. I've never been able to identify it. I think it might be a transportation unit or possibly a maintenance unit.

Does anyone recognize this patch? It appears to be German made from the 60's or Early 70's.

The DI is the 15th Aviation Group which was under the Seventh Army. I was wondering if the patch was a sub unit of the group or perhaps for a HQ flight element? I don't know when the DI was approved, so if it is the same unit, it could be from prior to the approval.

I found it, it's the coat of arms of the current 13th Aviation Regiment. Next question, from when? The 13th Combat Aviation Bn was active from 1964 to 1972 in Vietnam. It seems there was a 13th Attack Helicopter Bn active in the mid 1980's in Germany. I couldn't find when the current 13th Aviation Regiment was activated.

Does anyone know if the 1980's 13th AHB and the current 13th Aviation Regiment share a lineage? The current unit and the Vietnam era unit do share the same DI (which is slightly different than the COA), but with different mottos.

I found this in a Google search it might get you the ID you need, scroll down and you will see a picture of the patch that looks like your decal.

Patch is for the 64th Transport Company, the direct lineage for the 114th. Formed early 1956, thru till March 1958, merged with 544th Trans Det into C/17th.
