P-59A Posted July 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 13, 2017 I talked to a guy who worked on the fire fighting bombers that were grounded 10 years ago. The gray paint indicated to him this was a PB4Y that was painted gray in the post war years. The person I got it from bought it from an aircraft scrapper in the mid 50's. This was not on a B-29. Plant#4 Posted July 22, 2017 Share #5 Posted July 22, 2017 Would you happen to have any B-24 seat parts? I could use a left arm rest and a head rest for mine.

The head rest you can make. Google B-24/B-29 seat and you will see pics of seats with head rests that are missing the padding. All it is, is a bent metal tube with a cross brace. I can do detailed pics of how the head rest cover is put together. The padding is the same stuff used in old car seats with a cotton over lay. just like the old car seats. The arm rest can be fabricated by using the one you have as a model, just flop it.
