P-59A Posted July 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 13, 2017 This was an e-bay buy. The seller listed it as a c-119 navigators seat. After I got it I found a 28- prefix number...PBY!

P-59A Posted February 6, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted February 6, 2019 I sent a question about this seat to the Collings foundation and this was their reply. Collings Foundation Tue, Feb 5, 1:26 PM (10 hours ago) to me We have never seen a seat like that either. The PBY that we bought has much more involved airline style seats in it as it was licensed to give rides as a standard category aircraft on the Dutch registry. Looking at the PBY manual we have, your photo does not match anything in the manual either. The closest seat that we have seen like that is the B-24 radios operator seat that would swing out of the way. When not in use. Even that is quite a bit different than the one you have in the picture. I am thinking the seat in your picture is for a position where it could be moved easily like a radio operator or bombardier.
