mvmhm Posted July 8, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 8, 2017 I was contacted by a woman who'd discovered this flag in a shoe box in her Grandmother's house; she was contemplating burning it but wrote to see if I wanted it. It's a nice displayable size at about 30 inches by 50 inches. Overall in great shape with a few minor dingers at one end. The Vet was her Grandfather, who enlisted in 1941 and served with the 9th Infantry Division through the war. He was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism in early 1945 which was likely when he was in the Hurtgenwald. She also sent copies of pictures and book on the battle, as well as his separation doco and the letter to his mother regarding the BSM.
