Hello my friends,

I would like to share with you this Dog Tag that belonged to John T.Wilkes who was killed in action in Normandy on July 15, 1944.

John served with K Company, 330th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division and saw intense combats near Sainteny, Normandy where he was killed for the liberation of France 73 years ago.

According to the book "Sainteny" from Jean-Paul Pitou retracing the fight in that area during the summer of 1944, the 3rd Battalion of the 330th Infantry Regiment was moving from Les Champs de Losque towards the northern part of Remilly-sur-Lozon on July 15. I presume John T.Wikes was killed in that area.

I am now trying to find the picture of this brave soldier who gave his life for my country 73 years ago.
