Just wanted to share a grouping that I acquired recently ID'd to Clarence Alberg. These items were acquired directly from his family. The items were sold individually and unfortunately I was unable to get his War Correspondant patch;

Clarence Edward Alberg was born in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Clarence was a veteran of World War II, serving in North Africa, Ireland and France as an Information and Education Specialist for the 'Stars and Stripes' newspaper. He was drafted in 1941 and served through the end of the war. He was in Dachau, Germany on May 4th and 5th soon after the death camp there was liberated. His photos and writings from that day are preserved in the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.

He went on to a career as a printer at the Long Beach Press Telegram for 35 years before he retired. He passed away this past February 8th at the age of 98.

Photo is not original but a printout of a portrait of Mr. Alberg I discovered online. The two small round pins are from when he was a member of the international typographical union post-war.

Image of Mr. Alberg at Dachau where women prisoners were executed. One of seven photos donated to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2012.

The good conduct medal is not engraved. However, here is a copy of the paperwork that was with it.

I thought about making a grab for some of this stuff, but I'm glad most of it went to one good home.

Thanks, the seller/ family member also sent me some currency and additional ribbon bars and patches he found, so I was able to at least keep most of it together
