Captainofthe7th Posted June 30, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 30, 2017 I have this photo courtesy of a former member of the 1st Gordons and I was wondering if anyone can identify the occasion of this presentation and whot he Marine 4 star is. Maybe someone also recognizes the Brigadier or Colonel on the left? I am thinking the 4 star Marine is Pate...I found a similar photo of him inspecting Marines and he appears to have the same uniform with embroidered stars, but I'm not sure. Thanks, Rob
JBFloyd Posted June 30, 2017 Share #2 Posted June 30, 2017 It looks like Gen David M. Shoup, Commandant of the Marine Corps 1960-1964.
teufelhunde.ret Posted July 1, 2017 Share #3 Posted July 1, 2017 It's General Pate (swagger stick and gloves on table) General Shoup dispossessed of their use as it reflected poor leadership.
