Those WOSK tagged patches

Word to the wise, some unscrupulous sellers are removing those WOSK tags and placing them on other patches.

When you see a number that looks similar to this "7MR59" those were inventory control numbers for WOSK. Every type of patch had their own number. If you are in doubt ask someone who has a fair collection of the Wosk patches to verify the number.

I bought a large share from Donna Wosk and I'm fairly certain the numbers are correct because she would sell them cheaper if they didn't have tags

It never takes long before some con artist figures out a way to lie cheat and steal....There are a ton of repro patches out there claiming to be original's. Flea bay is full of them. That's why I quit collecting WW2 German stuff years ago! Its discouraging. Caveat Emptor. Buyer Beware.

Issue has been discussed here before in a previous link started by OCS

The Wosk number is for a USMC Aerial Gunner specialty mark.

I documented some most common Wosk inventory number with correct insignia, unfortunately the post got buried.
