rrobertscv Posted June 24, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 24, 2017 Just picked this up. All came from Quinn Johnson, a vet from N.E. MS. I am going to start researching him as soon as I hear back from the lady I got this from. She was a family friend, but was on her way out of town. Anything ne know what the heart shaped pin is? Brian Keith Posted June 25, 2017 Share #2 Posted June 25, 2017 Love the type written note on the armband-out of date! That is Great! Excellent you have the vet ID and looks like the box he sent it home in. Love it! Thanks for posting it. BKW

Cobra 6 Actual Posted June 25, 2017 Share #5 Posted June 25, 2017 Rough translation: The Golden Viennese Heart. An organizational or religious group of some kind? There is a current shop in Vienna with that name now, but I doubt it is related to your pin.

stepdale Posted July 23, 2017 Share #11 Posted July 23, 2017 Nice little grouping to a soldier that was in on the US liberation and occupation of western Bohemia. You can read more about it here - http://www.militaryhistoryonline.com/wwii/articles/liberation1945.aspx. The town where he was stationed when he typed a note on the armband is currently known as Planá u Mariánských Lázní in the Czech Republic, though it was called Plan in German. I did a quick search but couldn't find anything showing what US units occupied that town, though I'm sure a more thorough search will find it.
